Tender turkey meatballs with ginger and sesame, coated in a savory-sweet honey soy glaze. Great over rice or noodles.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 0.25 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 whole egg
- 2 whole green onions, finely chopped
- 2 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp soy sauce for meatballs
- 1 tsp sesame oil for meatballs
- 0.25 tsp salt (to taste)
- 0.25 tsp black pepper (to taste)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce for glaze
- 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil for glaze
- 1 clove garlic for glaze, minced
- 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1
Mix all meatball ingredients (turkey through pepper) in a bowl until just combined. Don't overmix.
- 2
Roll into 1.5-inch balls.
- 3
Heat a bit of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides, about 8-10 minutes total.
- 4
While meatballs cook, whisk together all glaze ingredients in a small bowl.
- 5
Pour the glaze over the meatballs and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the meatballs.
- 6
Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve over rice, noodles, or with steamed vegetables.
